Career Counseling can help you to find that path that is best for you.

I am excited to work with you to develop manageable career objectives and make meaningful improvements in your professional life. I love helping people to design new life chapters infused with a sense of meaning and purpose.

Your Experience Matters

Career counseling is a process of co-creation. Working with me, you will identify goals and develop short and long term action plans to get you where you want to go.  The career that will be a great fit for you will consider your interests, personality, values, desired lifestyle, and family commitments. Together we will look at these qualities to find the right career for you.

Your process might involve activities such as taking assessments, career journaling, making target employer lists and job research.  To be successful, it is important to feel ready to take on the tasks necessary to create the new chapter you are envisioning. Having a clear sense of this process will allow you to have realistic goals and enjoy the process while committing to the time and effort it takes to do it justice.

Here are some of the topics we can discuss:

  • Fine-Tuning Your First Impressions:

    • Navigating today's complex and ever-changing job search process including creating resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles that will get you noticed

  • For young adults:

    • Identifying a college, academic major, or career goal

    • Building a career with both the right credentials and experience to go with it

    • Assistance with choosing a college that is right for your personality, learning style, lifestyle preferences and career goals

    • Help with understanding how to navigate college and where to find the help you need

  • For mid-life clients:

    • Upskilling: Deciding on graduate school or pursuing additional credentials

    • Deciding whether to stay at your current employer, change jobs, employers, or career fields

    • Transitioning from traditional place-based employment to telecommuting

    • Career management: Learn how to reframe your thinking to reengage in your current position

    • Examining shifting labor market workforce trends, growing and shrinking fields, and shifting employer needs for individual roles

  • For those nearing retirement age:

    • Creating a retirement career: Strategizing ways to build experience in a new field

    • Clarifying current needs, work values, and designing a new career chapter using a holistic perspective

Below is a description of my standard services. Sliding scale fees or scholarships may be available in special circumstances. Unfortunately, at this time insurance will not pay for career counseling.

  • Individual 50 Minute Sessions:

    • In 50 minute sessions (phone or video conference) we will explore your situation and create a strategy to get you where you want to go. These sessions can be used for something specific, such as assistance with the job search process or a resume review, or they can be used for in-depth discussions on any career-related challenge or topic that you need guidance with, including how to manage staying in the job you are in.

  • Individual 30 Minute Sessions:

    • A 30-minute session is a great way to get help with something small and specific. Help with understanding how to navigate college and where to find the help you need
